I had a Fedora 14 VM I didn't update in a while. I tried using preupgrade but that didn't work. It would fail and when I ran it again it would have to download all the packages again and it was eating up bandwidth at our office.
I decided to use Yum to upgrade it. After the yum transaction was completed I was greeted with the "Welcome to emergency mode" login banner (Well, it just asking for the root password for maintenance)
The last entry in /var/log/messages was from September regarding SE Linux. One time I had an issue where SE Linux was preventing a machine from working so I disabled SE Linux for now to prevent that.
I would really like to learn how to troubleshoot this more than I would like to simply make a new VM. Can you guys please point me in the right direction?
