Laptop fan - Fedora 17 KDE

Hi everyone,
I'm a happy user of Fedora 17 KDE. I've recently tuned KDE up to some guides that I found online, and it's running as fast and smooth as ever. However, I've noticed that after a couple of minutes of having Fedora on, the laptop fan starts running and it never stops. I know, from the forum and other places, that this has happened to a lot of people, but I haven't been able to find a solution for it.
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 5420, Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge, with a nVidia Optimus card alongside an Intel HD 4000. I've Bumblebee running perfectly (which was said to save battery, but still I'm getting less life than on Windows 7). Also, laptop fan stops after cooling down the laptop on Windows. I'm using an external laptop cooling pad, which helps keeping the laptop cool.
lm-sensors shows the following:

acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +49.0°C (crit = +106.0°C)
temp2: +49.0°C (crit = +106.0°C)

coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Physical id 0: +47.0°C (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 0: +41.0°C (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 1: +41.0°C (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 2: +41.0°C (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 3: +46.0°C (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)

I'm no expert on laptop hardware, but at the same time I know some stuff, and it seems the temperatures are around normal values.
So, the thing is, does anyone know what could be done to help the fan work the way it should, and at the same time save some more battery life?
By the way, I've also tuned-adm running, with the balanced profile selected.
Thanks a lot!
