A local extended weather forecast (on television) jokingly stopped at 8 days, instead of going to 10 days,
with the prank of not showing any weather after next Friday Dec.21 - counting it as the Mayan doomsday date.
Not sure if the number 13 was all that significant to the Mayans anyway.
It is considered by some that this past year was 12.19.19.19.19 in the Mayan number base 20 counting system -
well sort of - if the Mayans used the winter solstice as the new year (but did they ?)
and I don't believe they even used a 365 day year, let alone count leap years either.
This December 21st date seems more an integration of the Mayan base 20 counting with our own calendar (my main point).
So this whole thing is really contrived, isn't it ?
Have a fun week everybuddy. It could be a wild ride though, but hopefully with very few actually seriously worried.
