Migrating from CentOS 6.3 to Fedora 16

I am running CentOS 6.3 and need to upgrade to linux 3.1 kernel. I have been suggested to move to Fedora 16 as linux 3.1 kernel does not work well with CentOS 6.3. Is there a path to migrate (or at least some shared experience) from CentOS 6.3 to Fedora 16? I did not see anything clearly on googling.
