As some of you may or may not know in Fedora 18 switching desktop managers isn't done from /etc/sysconfig/desktop. Its with systemctl now.
http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/...r_Desktop.html
Problem is I cannot get it to work with cinnamon. I have it installed and if I try to login and manually select cinnamon as the session it works. But I want cinnamon as the default.
Tried the obvious: (in root account & disabled gnome/gdm)
systemctl enable cinnamon.service
systemctl enable cinnamon
systemctl enable gdm-plymouth.service (saw this one with another linux distro based on fedora)
All came back with the error:
Failed to issue method call: No such file or directory
All of switch didn't work. So I went to the services folder to see if I could find it.
dir /usr/lib/systemd/system
And nothing looked close to cinnamon for a service.
So how to I enable cinnamon as the default display manager in Fedora 18?
I have been scratching my head on this one for awhile now.
