Beesu on F18

I've always used beesu to use apps like Gedit and Nautilus as root while logged in from my regular user account. On Fedora 18, this either immediately or almost immediately hangs GNOME Shell. I didn't add my regular user account to administrators when I installed since I didn't think it sounded secure.

I was hoping to continue using beesu the way I always have. Can anyone help?
