Authorization required because others are logged in at EVERY shutdown

My newly upgraded fedora 18 machines all exhibit this problem: Whenever I shutdown, they ask for my password again, stating that "others" are logged in. Others?

I think I once looked into this and found the user "lp" or something similar was what was holding up the machine. I could be wrong.. Any ideas??
