I was just wondering because I have a cousin that is an avid Linux user but recently he got a new laptop with a quad core AMD A8 CPU and an AMD Radeon HD GPU with 512 MB memory (sorry thats as specific I can be without having to call him up for his complete specs) and he mentioned to me not too long ago that AMD stopped supporting linux which is why he has been using Windows 7 which came pre-installed on his laptop. I heard AMD shortened their Linux department but I am not aware of AMD dropping Linux all together. Is AMD still supporting Fedora and other Linux distros? I ask this so that I can confirm what he has been saying or tell him otherwise if he is wrong plus I've been looking at gaming desktops and I need to know if I should go with AMD or Nvidia GPUs since I have plans on dual bootjng Linux and Windows on a future gaming desktop.
