LVM on Windows 7

Okay I have a question for all you techies out there. We know about hard disk cloning, and lately I've been reading about spanned volumes in Windows. So with spanned volumes, you can take 2 or more hard disks and span the partition across disks, allowing you to assign 1 drive letter to the disks, sort of like LVM in linux. Ok, so I have 2 500GB drives I want to combine, and run windows 7 on top of that. I have a backup 1TB hard drive I can use for cloning, but can only use this drive temporarily. I don't want to reinstall windows, so, how do I make this work? I want to set up the disk spanning but I would assume that is done with windows software, so I might have to use a hardware raid instead. if I use hardware raid 0, will a clone program see that as 1 volume and allow me to transfer my data back onto the volume?
