Missing operator system_

I am having so much trouble trying to install Fedora 17 on my laptop. I have an HP Pavilion DM4. I have a 32 bit ISO of F17 on a USB, from unetbootin. I tried LiveUSBcreator, and had the same problems as I do with unetbootin, so I don't think it's that.

I boot up with the live image, and it works fine. I install it onto the hard drive (using the use all space option), and it works fine... until the very end, after it tries to install bootloader onto my dev/sda. It says: "There was an error installing the bootloader. The system may not be bootable." And indeed, when I reboot it just says MISSING OPERATING SYSTEM_ with a blinking cursor against a black screen. If I install the bootloader to dev/sda1 it won't give me the "There was an error installing the bootloader..." window, but it still presents me with the same MISSING OPERATOR SYSTEM_ screen when I reboot.

Here is a screenshot of the partition layout before I click write changes to disk. I haven't changed anything. -------> http://puu.sh/11e3o <-------- Is that all right?

I've tried everything. I am completely frazzled and confused. I don't know what to do. I need a computer. Right now I have to look for answers on my live USB. :( Please help! I've tried re-installing several times, the same thing always happens. I don't know what bootloader isn't installing correctly. I've tried several different ISO's, different ways of flashing them. Totally confused, been researching and googling all day today and still have no clue. I wouldn't just ask a question without trying to do my own research, I have been trying a lot today, just can't find an answer.

Thank you to anyone that can help. :)
