(WARNING: some general background)
I just got back into Linux about 2 weeks ago. In the past I only dabbled with 9.04/9.10/10.04... Ubuntu for about a year but nothing serious. I can't stand Windows so I've been using OS X for about a decade, and Linux only on old computers people were throwing out.
I just rescued a decent laptop with a broken screen and fixed it up. Quickly put on Ubuntu (and 2 other laptops from friends with crashed virus-ridden windows), and got sucked back in. I've done Ubuntu before so I wanted to go a little further and step back into distros that are slightly less newbie. This brings me to Fedora 18.
At first loved it. My hatred for Windows makes me steer away from KDE, even though it looks pretty damn good imo. My biggest thing was the left hot corner with Fc18 Gnome. I can only use OS X with hot corners so I was thrilled. (I feel inhibited without them).
Unfortunately I've been hitting the snags with little things on Fc18 that are getting harder to ignore with this release. That stuff I'll complain about in other forums, I've rambled enough already. I can only google and search for fixes so far until I regrettably find that I have some unique stuff going on here; so here I am. I really want to stick to Fedora and make it through it's so-called "worst distro ever" era. I love enough about it that I am going to stick with it.. and bother all of you a lot :p
