My desktop (a separate HD dual-boot -- Win 7 and F-17) began buzzing after a Win 7 boot-up, but not after a Linux boot-up. The Win 7 HD subsequently began repairing the file system everytime at boot-up. Ran Western Digital (WD) HD diagnostic software on their (2 year old) 1 TB Black disk. Both the quick test and the extended test found bad sectors. The extended test was unable to fix the bad sectors so I purchased another identical drive, restored Win 7 to the new drive from back-up, and am now getting the same buzzing sound. The odd thing is, if I open my case and listen, the sound seems loudest when my ear is closest to my Cooler Master Silent 700 Pro PSU. I ran Cooler Masters PSU calculator and it calculated 358 W, so I'm not overloading it.
Any thoughts on why this buzz would appear ONLY when I boot into Win 7?

I just cloned the new 1 TB Win 7 HD to the replacement 2 TB Black HD Western Digital sent me as a replacement for the original failed 1 TB drive. Disconnected the new 1 TB HD and connected the 2 TB HD in its place in the booting order. Booted Win 7. NO buzz in Win 7 with the larger replacement HD.
