Installing Fedora 18 on old Acer Laptop

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to install fedora 18 on an old acer laptop. Here are the specs:

Processor AMD Turion 64 mobile technology ML-32 / 1.8 GHz .
Memory 512.0 MB / 2.0 GB (max) .
Hard Drive 80.0 GB .
Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional .
Display Type 15.4 in TFT active matrix .
Max Resolution 1280 x 800 ( WXGA ) .
Graphics Processor SiS Mirage 2 Shared video memory (UMA) .
Optical Drive DVD±RW (+R DL) - Integrated


Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work because I get the following:

Gdk Warning **: anaconda: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server: 1.

Pane is dead...


Bear in mind, I am totally new to Linux and I have a very basic understanding of operating systems. I'm assuming that Gdk is related to the graphical device?

Any ideas?
