I was reading that SAS is compatible with recent SATA drives and has some benefits over SATA like longer cable length and better enterprise features and multipath i/o.
Is it likely SAS will replace SATA in general even for normal home users or is SATA cheaper so SATA will stick around as a lower end drive and SAS for the higher end.
