Yum install problem

New to fedora and have installed v17. While trying to add packages I have received the following error

File contains no section headers.
file: file://///etc/yum.repos.d/fedorautils.repo, line: 1
'<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>\n'

I have tried

yum clean all

and

yum clean all --skip-broken

to no avail. Anyone have a suggestion that can keep me from having to do a full reinstall?
