Long story short, I'm converting a standalone server (currently running Ubuntu LTS) to a VM host. I've tossed with the idea of ESXi but really would like to remain with a free (as in speech, although free beer is nice too) stack, so decided to give oVirt + KVM a look (well KVM isn't new to me, been playing with it for a while on my Fedora boxes).
What I'm trying to figure out is if there's any significant changes to KVM between CentOS 6 and F18/F19 that I'm going to really care about? I don't mind the notion of having to upgrade the VM server on a regular basis, but if there's nothing truly compelling to keep me from going Fedora on the VM host, I may save myself the trouble and go with something longer lasting in terms of stability and stick with CentOS 6.
Anyone else undertake this path and make a decision that would be willing to share?
