Installed java !.7.0_21 install went fine how ever firefox would not use the new libjavaplugin.so.Here is what I did

libjavaplugin.so (32-bit)

Code:

alternatives --config libjavaplugin.so

libjavaplugin.so.x86_64 (64-bit)

Code:

alternatives --config libjavaplugin.so.x86_64
run the command then enter the number of the libjavaplugin.so you want to use.Mine looked like this on a 64 system.

There are 10 programs which provide 'libjavaplugin.so.x86_64'.
