Hi,
I use Fed18 as webserver and in order to transfer file easily between development computer (windows 7) and webserver (fed18) i setup a samba folder sharing to /var/www/html/
for now, webserver is able to access to share folders via browsing network, however windows 7 client is not able.
as my windows 7 user doesn't have a user account on server, he's mapped with an existing one in samba. Let's call it "alain" (user account on server). now in samba i mapped user account "alain" with windows 7 user credential so domain\username (let's say: "pc1\john").
however it was still not working.
so i changed in group policy (under windows) as following:
1. typed gpedit.msc in the Start Search box.
2. Navigate to Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Settings.
3. In the right panel, i changed the following policy: Network security: LAN Manager authentication level =
Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated.
after restarting windows compute, it seems to work. However my windows user mapping with server account does not work.
the only thing that work it's to type server account... however windows user doesn't know every time password and account of server, so mapping was a very interesting feature.
Any idea how can it be solved ?
thx.
