Intermittantly, but regularly, most often 1 - 2 minutes after starting up the computer or resuming, the interface will slow to an unusuable crawl, mouse and typing become laggish, then freeze entirely, then become laggish, then return to normal. This lasts approx 1 minute each time it happens.
First noticed the problem on Fedora 18, but since updating to 19 it has persisted without change. Fresh install of 19 still shows same problem. Did not encounter this problem on either Fedora 16, 17 or Opensuse 12.3 with Gnome 3.8
Given how regular it is you'd think it would be easy to track down, but there is nothing I can see in either Xorg.0.log or messages. Smart disk health is all ok. Running top doesn't seem to show anything I can make sense of anyway, just some kworker info at the top of the list.
If I can switch to another VT before it becomes to severe I have a fully working and normal system when working from CLI on another VT.
I'm considering removing the infiniality patches from the system, since that's the only graphics related non-standard thing Ive installed. Should've mentioned it's an intel graphics card, on board laptop that is, not a newer sandy bridge one.
Looking for some tips/advise on how to debug this, or just some good guesses would do too. Thanks,
Craig
