I own an MSI GE60 0NC laptop with an Atheros killer E2200 Ethernet adapter, which is not working. My Intel Centrino wireless card worked fine out of the box, but the ethernet adapter isn't operational at all. It's detected by lspci and lshw -C network (here and here, respectively). I'm going to be visiting Japan this summer, staying with a couple of host families and I've heard that a good amount of them will only have ethernet internet as opposed to a wireless connection.
As you might see from my pastes, I was at the time trying to make a compat-wireless package with the patch from this Ubuntu Forum post for my exact wireless adapter. However, I get these strange errors any time I try to make it (yes, I did ./driver-select alx), as seen in this paste.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong, if I can do anything to fix it?
I've attached the patch file just in case it helps.
