when dnf is done, will yumex use dnf right away?

I was just trying dnf, which is a next gen replacement for yum. It seems to work fine but still lacks some of the features of yum

I'm just wondering if dnf is an easy drop in replacement for the yum backend for yumex or will yumex have some problems using dnf instead of yum. I guess it depends on how the interfaces are done, if yumex uses yum in a very decoupled way, it will be easy to go to dnf.
