Installation failure

Hi, ALL,
I'm trying to install F18 on my server since yesterday.
The story goes.

At home I use Gentoo, but this is workplace and so I needed to choose between Ubuntu and Fedora. I selected Fedora.
I came to the download page and grabbed the Fedora18 KDE installation image. Then I burned it to the USB stick with Fedora USB burner and went for installation.
USB booted up, I was able to select/choose everything and the actual install started. But then after some time it errored out saying that I have an error somewhere in python-2.7 about installing GRUB. I wasn't even able to report it as BugZilla was not properly configured. ;-)
So I restarted the installation, but the error still existed.
Then I dropped Gentoo image on the same USB stick and tried to install it on the same machine. It didn't even wanted to boot.

So I decided to go home, burn 2 DVDs for Fedora and Gentoo. I did just that and this morning I started with Gentoo. It installed fine without any issues, but unfortunately trying to install F18 (funny name, isn't? "fsck internationalization") I see it didn't pickup Windows/Gentoo partitioning scheme. Moreover, trying to boot up Fedora DVD (same as USB - KDE install DVD) it errors out almost immediately giving me some anaconda error on the python side.

Now, how do I solve this issue? I need to have Fedora installed as I can't use Gentoo here, but Fedora does not pick up anything and it errors out.

Thank you for any advice you can give.
