Hi!
I'm back home with Mom, we got home late Saturday, June 8 (especially for b4time, hmaarfk, bob and the few that were involved in my already messed up firefox thread a week ago, and may remember my situation of just not having the time I used to have to read up on stuff and the help I've received here has been incredible). :-)
I'm still off on vacation this week. We are finally "caught up" on home things (having received just over 2 weeks of postal mail yesterday and getting suitcases and things put back where they normally sit).
One of the 2 "most critical" things to me, though the lesser one, is how DIFFERENT GNOME 3.0 looks!
On the System Settings->Details screen, I have found and turned "Forced Fallback Mode" on. That makes things a lot closer! :-O
I know I just need to read more on GNOME 3.0, but I'll mention the single thing I guess I am most missing even with Forced Fallback Mode on: the task bars Autohide.
On my Desktop Linux system, I have both the top and bottom task bars set so that they are not visible unless I move the mouse pointer there. The resolution on this laptop seems to be set as high as it can go, but I will definitely want the "extra 2 lines", and would greatly prefer to have the 2 task bars "hidden" until the mouse pointer is moved there, as I have on my desktop Linux.
If anyone knows whether this is possible and can help guide me much more quickly than I'd be able to get there on my own, I'd appreciate it. :-)
The more critical issue to me is being able to ssh login to my desktop Linux. I'll post my first message and associated question(s) on that hopefully later this week!
Thanks!
Barry
