Cannot install from a .run file

Hello everyone,

I am trying to install a Java utility from a .run file, without any success (JXplorer LDAP browser as it happens, though I don't think that is relevant).

• File is executable
• Running as root
• No error message or output of any kind - just goes straight back to command line prompt
• No activity visible with top or ps -ef
• SELinux is "Permissive"
• Running on F17 x86_64 (kernel 3.8.13-100)

I can install the same utility from the same .run file without any problem on another F17 x86_64 machine where it runs perfectly.

Any ideas what is going wrong?
