Don't post stuff here very often but check in a fair bit for problem solving and research on new releases, and just wanted to report a success with a fedup upgrade to F18. Searched here beforehand but did not find anything explicit enough on using fedup with nvidia's drivers and thought I would pass along the code string below.
Entered the command below all on one line with fedup-0.7.3-5 from the F17 testing repo [now with a manpage -- thanks guys] ...used the --iso parameter to reduce the download size and it may have worked as advertised [fedup did mount it], but the downloads still took a while...
...in any case, the nvidia drivers and modules updated along with all the other stuff from the RPM Fusion repos; the grub entries to blacklist nouveau were all added correctly; and the F18 fusion repos are still in yum's list...all stuff I was concerned about...
Anyway, the e16 GUI started right up [startx from the prompt], and all seems well...did the distro-sync thing as recommended above and it fussed with google-earth and a half dozen other things, but it's all good so far...
...as I said, just FYI for anyone else who is looking to give fedup a try...
rikm...
PS. --added the actual code string as an attachment, the forum software wouldn't post it in the msg body
