I am using Acer Travelmate 8481 with Optimus Tech (NVidia GT520M and Intel). Last weekend I upgraded to FC19.
The install interface is much improved in easiness and intuitive compare to previous Fedora installation. Congratulation to the team in improving this install interface.
However, I have been having horrible experiences after the installation. After installing FC19, I update the installations. When rebooting, my system will stay at those text screen and don't bring the login windows, neither it finishes the loading (pressing alt-ctrl-f2 etc doesn't bring up any other terminal windows). Upon checking the /var/log/messages, I noticed that GDM failed to load.
I checked the forum and found out that this was mentioned in Bugzilla bug 955779 and Common issue in Fedora 19. I found a bit funny that the bug could happen to old or no 3D graphic card. However, my notebook is quite recent and I have been not having problems with FC18 and fresh install of FC19. So, there must be something else I overseen.
I currently just suspend my system because once I reboot and update, things will fail to load and I must reinstall again. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
