OK this isn't a networking question, just an observation I had this morning. I was getting an "Error connecting to wired network" status messages popping up. Which was strange since I had no ethernet cable plugged in, and was using a wireless connection.
It wasn't until I realized that I had my IPhone plugged into a USB port. Once I removed the phone, the messages went away.
