I am in need of updating my laptop. I have ubuntu 10.10, I do not like the direction ubuntu is going, I am seeking to move to fedora 17. I have come to enjoy the looka nd feel of gnome 2. However since that is not an option, I have elected gnome 3 fallback and was wondering if I could I make the panels transparent. I can do so with the Live CD hwoever since i cannot install graphics drivers on a live CD and restart, the menus and trays are still black, does this go away when the system is fully updated?
