On earlier versions of gnome it was fairly trivial to restore the sane default of having the delete key delete things when pressed, instead of having to press ctrl+delete. Unfortunately, it required using nautilus and the 'can change accels' dconf key. Now that nautilus has been replaced with Files and its edit menu removed, I need to find a new way to change the delete function.
At a guess, I'm thinking maybe if I install pcmanfm, use it to change the delete key accelerator, then remove it again. But I'm wondering if there is a simpler workaround, as that seems a bit absurd.
Also, any way to have the mouse clear the "shield" from the lock screen, instead of having to press esc or click and drag on the shield?
