Hang on boot after F15 to F17 upgrade

Getting ready for F18, started upgrading a stable F14 install. Upgraded F14 -> F15 with F15 disk. Then used preupgrade to go F15 -> F17. Seemed to go OK, but on reboot get as far as

LSB: Start openswan ipsec at boot time

Tried disabling ipsec and found the boot to stop at the line ahead of LSB:...openswan.

Checked the boot log. It stops at the LSB:...openswan line.

So it looks like there's a problem with whatever loads after the LSB:...openswan line.

Any ideas???
