Looking to Configure a Wacom Tablet in KDE - Fedora 17

To All,

I have a Fedora 17 installation that I have been using now for several months with the KDE Desktop. For information purposes it is Fedora 17 x86_64 with KDE 4.9.3 and I originally installed from the x86_64 KDE Live CD version.I have a Wacom Intous 4 Large USB graphics tablet that I would like to be able to configure and use in conjunction with GIMP, Inkscape, Blender and anything else I can think of. The problem is I have not been able to find any tool or application that will allow me to change the default configurations

I have had some success while using Gnome 3 Desktop on Fedora 16, however I would prefer to use KDE Desktopp instead. Under Gnome 3 there is a section of the Gnome Settings Daemon that is devoted to Wacom Tablets, however the last time I used it it was only able to alter basic configurations. If I wanted to make deeper changes such as area mapping I had to edit the dconf files for the Gnome Settings Daemon using dconf editor. However that only works for KDE, unless someone knows of something similar in KDE.

I have a 1280x1024 (4:3 aspect ratio) LCD monitor that I would like to be able to map the area to. I have done this before on Gnome 3, but so far I have been unable to find out how to do it in KDE.

A quick recap of what I would like to be able to do.
  • Tablet Area Mapping, including mouse and Stylus.
  • Configure the Express Keys command bindings
  • Customize the Express Keys OLED Displays (Support for them has been in the Wacom Linux driver for some time now.)

While performing multiple searches for solutions to my problem I found this utility, but it appears not to be a part of the standard repository and is several years old:

Wacom Tablet 1.3.7 - KDE System Tool

Is this the only know KDE utility or is there another that I am missing or have overlooked? Or is there a method like I mentioned above that is similar to the dconf editor approach?

I would prefer to not to have to compile an application due to my limited knowledge in that regard and the complications that come with it.

Thank you to all in advance for your advice and input.

Your Fellow Linux User,

Der Steinmeister
