I am running F17 and have root on a 60 gb ssd and home on a 300 gb sata hd.
Lately I get warnings on booting that the hd is failing, something like 11 sectors cant b repaired.
I do have a spare hd and would like to copy everything from failing drive to the spare and then install the spare so I do not need to do a complete re-install.
What what would be best way to do this?
This is a desktop and I can only install 2 sata drives at one time.
Can I boot a live cd/usb with the two hdds connected to sata cables and copy files from failing hd to the spare?
If so, what app or procedure would likely work best?
Any other suggestions will be appreciated.
