I am using Fedora 17 KDE.
When I play music in Amarok using the Gstreamer backend, playback will simply stop ever 30 to 90 minutes and not resume until I click Next Track. Pressing Pause or Stop and then Play doesn't do anything.
When I use the VLC backend, sound will be terribly distorted and scratchy for 20 to 60 seconds after the computer was started and then continue to play normally. When there is a startup sound or there is an error message popup before I played Amarok for a while, the same distortion applies to it as well, so Amarok isn't the cause of the problem.
I've read there is also a xine backend, but even though I have the xine-lib package, the backend is not offered in the list in the phonon settings.
Can anyone help me to get working sound?
