Fedora 17, problem with gma 500

Hello everyone:

Im very new to linux, i get confused very easy when i get to see source codes and all, wich im still trying to undesrtand.

I have looked over google and i have find a lot of sites with source codes saying gma 500 source patch, driver and whats not, but only as source, and i dont know what to do with that or if that would fix my problem, or destroy my sistem wich im sure its not hard with my small knowledge.

Problem is i cant fix my screen brightness, im using mate desktop. at system configuration-->screen i found unknown screen, and everytime i start fedora i found this message "failed gma500 vblank count for disabled pipe" or something like that.

Its quite annoying because i cant change resolution and some windows are bigger than the screen, its also eating my battery since i cant change brightness

Im using a netbook, gateway LT4002m, intel graphics Media Accelerator 3600 with fedora 17

please if someone could explain me how to fix it. Thanks a lot
