Zero partitions on usable disc?

Here we go. I have a Patriot 32GB USB stick. When I mount it, it mounts /dev/sdc directly. There is no /dev/sdc1. It seems that the partition table is missing and the device itself is formatted as (compressed) NTFS. I can use the device perfectly fine. How would I go about partitioning this without losing my data?
  • Make a partition scheme of some sort
  • Resize current "partition"
Is that even possible if the NTFS is compressed?
