I just got some extra RAM to put into my laptop today, and after putting it in I was initially unable to boot into my Fedora install. So I tried booting into Windows Vista to see if it would work and it did. After that I tried a LiveDVD of CentOS which also worked. Thanks to Nirik on IRC, he directed me to the Common Kernel Problems page on the wiki, and I tried acpi=off which enabled me to boot into my install. It's mostly fully functional except I can't access my CPU temperature sensor (it's nice to have, but not necessary). Is there any way I can track the problem down further? or should I just append acpi=off to my kernel parameters?
