Decent Filesystem for Portable Media

Hii!

I've been using NTFS for my portable devices due to its (kinda) cross-platform nature. However, I'm tired of losing my file permissions when I move files from my linux machines. Is there a cross-platform filesystem (that will work with Windows and linux)) that will preserve my file permissions?
